A 36″ steel coil coating process line for the manufacture of beverage and soup cans required an improvement project that was scheduled to interrupt production for 8 weeks while the coater and oven operations were installed.

Benchmark formulated the idea of building a bypass system that would run over the top of the construction area, and allow the line to continue production during the entire coater and oven construction and installation phase.

Eight weeks of production was not lost, allowing the plant to continue to operate and capture about $2 million in revenue.
